Tracy answers questions from fans

Q: What made last year’s Rockets team special? I mean most teams can’t lose an all-star center and win 20 straight. Thanks Tracy. good luck this year! – Mike, New Brunswick, NJ

A: I just think it was a very coachable team. We had great chemistry on this team, and I think, when our big fella went out, I think everybody just really elevated their game, knowing that we were going to have to do it together. That’s what we did. There were nights where a different guy contributed on offense and defensively, whatever. We were already one of the better defensive teams in this league. I think we just connected on both sides and that’s why I think we won 57 games last year.

Q: Is it weird to you that you are a 12 year veteran in this league now? (Patrick – T-Mac’s #1 fan)

A: It is. It’s been a long time. I can remember back when I was a rookie and some of the guys outplayed me in this league and they were just showing me the way and paving the way for me. And now here I am, one of the oldest guys on this team. It’s just crazy that I’ve been in the league for 12 years.

Q: Does Ron Artest have a clean slate with the Rockets?

A: Absolutely. He’s a good guy, a real good guy. The guy just wants to win. Everybody on our team is, we have good guys. You are what your environment is. We just need him to do what he does on the basketball court. He’s a fierce competitor, he competes every night on that basketball court. You already know what he does on the defensive end. But what I don’t think people know about Ron is that he’s a very unselfish player. It’s good for our team to have a guy of his caliber to add to what we already have. And that’s a good defensive team. I think you take Ron and put him on anybody else’s team, all the other teams who were looking for Ron, I think he would have probably had to go there and be a defensive stopper. And here he doesn’t have to be that, because we already have a defensive team that is pretty good. I am very excited about the additions that we have, especially about Ron.

Hey y0 Tracy! I’m a Filipino & Chinese fan from Southern Cali, the OC and am so ecstatic for this season.

T-Mac | Yao | Artest is the Big 3 that will bring Houston championship number 3. I believe that unconditionally. All I can hear from commentators is T-Mac 2 the rack and T for 3! I’ll be rocking my authentic red away jersey of you at a Lakers game here in Killa Kali when the Rockets come to town either in Nov or April. Since you looked up to Magic growing up, play like the way you did in your Magic days when you were voted by your peers as the best baller on the planet in 2003. Last but not least, I attended a party in the Bay Area of NorCal hosted by Artest and have a picture with him and few number of my friends at our table hehehe, I would love to take one with you mos def. Tracy I hope that your back won’t stop you from being a great player this year. I like the way you play and I am a huge fan. I agree with a lot of people of your team being very good this season. You guys are good but I think you aren’t good enough to win a championship. I mean don’t get me wrong I love the rockets but people keep saying that you are going to win the NBA Championship. You might be able to carry your team to the conference finals but I don’t think you guys are going to win. I know you are getting exhausted from playing a lot of basketball. I mean you are a great veteran in all but you just have to many injuries. I don’t think that you will ever be as good as you were when you were with the Orlando Magic. What I’m saying is people need to stop dreaming about the Rockets winning a championship this year.

heard about your run-in with one of the arrogant Celts…people are so narrow-minded. First they call you soft, when you finally let them know not to mess with you…they still want to dog you out. Go figure. I think you are doing the right think, cause to me and a lot of people , it seems like everyone in the league is trying to push you around and get away with it. I said to myself” If thats what it takes to win” go for it. Let them know you are one of the most elite players in the NBA history. I think it is a matter of respect. I have always looked at you as a very humble individual with a huge heart. But if you need to step up to get the respect you deserve, so be it. But remember we need you in the game, not in lots of foul trouble. How are you and Ron getting along? I already know that you appreciate having him on your squad. I really have high hopes for the ROX this season. Go Tracy. Be the wonderful team player that you are, but don’t take any BS from anyone.
