hope you are doing well. Please do not apologize to the coach. For what??? If he would have listened and opened his eyes last season, he should have seen that you were hurt. I am so happy you are leaving the Rockets. I as well am voting for you every day to be an All Star. I think you should play, show em what you got. It would be awesome to see you either in Miami or Orlando. I hope you won’t end up in New York, that coach has issues. Meantime I am watching games and laughing when the Rockets lose. When you get a moment you should check out chron.com, I guess you never knew how many fans you have. People are outraged at how the team has treated you. Mac, I’m truly sorry things didn’t work out for you in Houston. As I’m sure you have learned, there are some really great, die-hard fans here, but there are some truly fair-weather haters too. Unfortunately, the haters won out this time.

It’s all good though, live and learn. What doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger right?

On another note, I have been voting everyday for the last 4-5 days for you to appear in the all-star game in Dallas. Lately, I’ve been thinking it would be great if you could make an appearance there and demonstrate to the league the results of your hardwork and dedication after micro-surgery.

I know you’re probably focused on family and rehab right now, but I can think of no other forum more amenable to showcasing your game readiness than the All-Star game.

If that means having fewer minutes and gradually getting better, stronger, and quicker, than so be it. I want to see you happy. Now to the real point!! dude I don’t know what’s wrong with these people (coach and management) you work your butt off trying to get back in shape as quick as possible to join the team and help them to continue winning and now what they say! that they can’t give you more playing time cause that will maybe break team chemistry!! That’s some B.S.!!, so if they do trade you what are they going to tell the new guy! Oh, excuse us but we can give you to much playing time cause that will break team chemistry!! LOL !!, WOW !! dude it’s really incredible how they forgot all you did for them! how your battle aginst the jazz and mavs in those playoffs series averaging close to 27 pts 6 rebs and 6 assists per game (but i guess that wasn’t good enough or either they have real short memory!! By the way YAO !! WATCH IT YOU COULD BE NEXT !!
Another thing Ariza is a real decent player but he ain’t no T-mac !! I really hope the team continues to play well but at the same time i have to say that yes they are winning but if you check the games aginst the elite teams of the league (Lakers, Cleveland, Mavs etc.,) they haven’t done well and that’s why you need superstars on your team unless you just wanna make the playoffs and then get eliminated on the first round. Superstars are the reason why the lakers (kobe and gasol), celtics (garnnet, pierce and allen) and san antonio (Ducan and Parker) won their championships!!
And now to finish all i have to say is that the loyalty that they (Houston)shows to their superstars then again WHAT IT YAO AND WHOEVER JOINS THE TEAM IF THEY TRADE YOU !!

Mr. McGrady this is an open letter to you. I regret that you won’t play anymore for the Rockets. I’m confused at your actions because of the comments you’ve made here. You say you trust your coach and staff in the decision that’s in the best interest of your health and team and how much you love your teammates and the city, and now you are moving on. I personally know you will make a comeback and I don’t doubt your abilities or desire. But sometimes we have to trust in others and I know that’s sometimes a frightening thing to do when all of our lives we relied on ourselves. But I truly feel you are making an unwise decision. Sometimes we don’t know what’s best for us because we’re too close to the matter to see things objectively. I tell you this because of personal experience. It’s a long story so I won’t go into it. But what I want to say is something by ex father-in-law told me. He said it’s not always about who is right, it’s about what is right. You have a chance to do the right thing. I’m telling you this as a person, not a player. Think of your teammates who you say you love. Don’t you want to help them? What about your family? I’m sure they love Houston here and don’t want to leave. Look, I hope I didn’t upset you; but not many people get the opportunity you have. Tough to hear about the Rockets wanted to trade you to other teams. At first, im furious because i do know the 7-8 minutes playing time is a load of bull, sugar coating from the exact truth.

But i guess it boils down to what you actually want, which is to be at your top notch elite performance. That’s what matter most, second after your family. If it’s mutual, then you will always have our support all day and night.

Maybe Rick Adelman is looking out for you and your knee. I mean major surgery, it takes a year to fully heal and its only been 10 months. You may feel like you can go out there and play more minutes, but who knows how your knee may hold up. In the 46 minutes you played in 6 games, you looked good. The thing I noticed was your explosivness, going up trying to block and alter your opponents shots. You definetly are more explosive. Talk to Coach and ask him for time in the first and second half. Maybe play 14-20 minutes. Keep playing hard, and work something out with coach Adelman, I want to see you playing again man. Don’t be shy when you get into the paint put one down on someone’s head, let the haters know that you be back and better than before!!! Your the man T-mac, much love

I’m a huge Rocket fan and I’m a huge fan of yours, and I am sick and tired Rick Adleman. I know that he is a very good coach and is a miracle worker for what he has done with this years injured roster. But I’m sick of hearing him say that the Rockets play as a team now. What is he talking about?? So Houston didn’t play as team when you, Tracy Mcgrady, led them to 22 straight wins. I mean sure, coming off MAJOR surgery, yeah you’re gonna lose a step, not be as quick, but MORE MINUTES will fix that!! Is he serious?? Houston NEEDS a player that can take over a game!!! Last time I checked, Carl Landry plays well, but 16, almost 17 points a game, coming off the bench, doesn’t take over a ball game. Neither will AB or Trevor Ariza. What Rick Adleman needs to do is to start AB at the 1, you at the 2, Battier at the 3, Scola at , and Hayes at 5. And bring Landry and Ariza off the bench. Ariza past 5 games has been playing like crap, shot selection is out the window, free throw shooting is sickening, why not reduce his minutes? Also have Lowry and Andersen come off the bench. I read stuff in Houston Chron online and the writers just rip you. What do they exactly know about basketball?? They say that you’ll never be as good as you once were, Forget them. Where were they when you were busting your behind in Chicago? I’ve watched you play in your limited minutes and you need more touches, and more time. What the heck can a player do in 7 minutes and 35 seconds, coming off major knee surgery? Back to whole team concept. You make everyone around you better. When you drive to the basket, defenders collapse, and you can kick in it out to guys like AB, lowry, Ariza, Battier, and Andersen. Im sure when you have the full confidence in your legs you will be completely back, as i do see you not at full speed, but that’s expected. Welcome back. You are doing the right thing listening to Coach & taking it slowly. We want you back 100%. If there is movement in the offense before you make your move, it is harder for defenses to guard you. If everyone is just standing still and watching you, the defense is better prepared & waiting for you to make your move or to make the pass. Play the team game and only take over if the team is struggling or when it is money time (4th quarter). Most important, take care of yourself & always protect yourself on the court to avoid injury.

You are the only reason I watch the NBA. I havent watched NBA since Jordan. You are my favourite player of ALL TIME! You can score like Jordan, pass like Magic & defend like Pippen. If you are healthy, you are the best of ALL TIME.

I think your jumpshot is too flat. It needs to be going into the basket at a 45 degree angle to give you the max margin for error. This way even if you are a little off, it will still go in. Your shot now is going in at about 30 degree angle. At this angle, your shot has to be perfect and if it is even a little off, it won’t go in. Look at Steve Nash’s jumper.

I also noticed the lift you’re getting on your J and your quick first step. It looks like you have much of your explosiveness back too. BTW what was coach thinking by putting you on Anthony last night in only your second game back, wtf? Now it’s just a matter of shaking off some rust and getting your regular season legs under you. It’s going to be great seeing you prove all of your doubters wrong, as you usually do.

Mac- you got seven minutes out on the floor to demonstrate your skills on a contract year you gotta do a little more- dontcause any injuries to yourself in the process but if you not able to get anything done they’re not gonna have any use for you. I know you may be a little hestitant that if you out up shots and they’re not falling it gonna hurt you even more but only putting up one or two and missing them then stopping isnt any better.
